Piotr Kowalczyk MSc Eng.

I graduated from Warsaw University of Technology, the Faculty of Chemistry, in specialty of Applied Biotechnology.

The Laboratory of Biomedical Engineering gained my interest during summer of 2013, when I voluntarily helped Professor Ciach in his research of microfluidic nanocrystal precipitation. This field of study proved interesting enough for me to start a B.Sc thesis titled Obtaining fluorescent nanocrystals with microfluidic devices, with Professor Ciach being my promoter and M.Sc Magda Janczewska being my scientific advisor. My M.Sc thesis, Conceptual design installations for the continuous production of biofuels by enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose and fermentation, was created under Professor Andrzej Koltuniewicz. Both theses were defended with an A grade.

Currently I am attending Ph.D studies at the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering. I am working on different problems of biotechnology, biomedical engineering and organic chemistry. I am particularly interested in innovative materials for 3D printing of prosthetics and tissue scaffolds, membrane technology and various coniugations of bioactive substances. I value interdisciplinary knowledge and experience, and I am consequently chasing those. I am glad to participate in new, innovative projects and to collaborate with other scientists.
