Aleksandra Kuźmińska, MSc Eng.

I graduated from the Warsaw University of Technology, the Faculty of Chemistry, with specialty of Applied Biotechnology.

I started collaborating with Biomedical Engineering Laboratory in 2013 during work for my master thesis. Polyurethane modification with short peptide sequence and then culturing endothelial cells on its surface was the aim of this work. Polyurethane is widely used for the vascular prostheses preparation. Such modification improves its biocompatibility and hemocompatibility.

Promising results and great team encouraged me to continue the research. This is why in 2015 I started a PhD at the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, WUT.

My work with students:

·     Techniques in cells cultivation – laboratory

Prizes and awards:

·     Best Poster at 1st National Biomedical Symposium  ESKULAP, Lublin 2014; “Cardiovascular prostheses modifications - acrylic acid attachment to the surface of the polyurethane”
